    Charles develops and implements the technical roadmap for realizing our aspiration to better understand the ocean and make that knowledge available to all.

    Prior to Bedrock, he spent over 15 years building and piloting vehicle systems across land, sea, air and space with SpaceX, Reliable Robotics, DeepFlight and SRI International.

  • Anthony DiMare, Co-Founder & Chair of the Board

    Anthony makes sure the company executes on our mission while building and supporting the team.

    He began his career with a stint as a naval architect working on commercial ferries, vessel and pleasure craft. He then went on to be first engineer at Bre & Co + Grow Labs in NYC, before founding and serving as CEO of Nautilus Labs.

  • Tyler Hunt, Senior Director of Strategy & Operations

    Tyler leads the Strategy, Operations, and Government Affairs functions, partnering closely with our CEO and CTO.

    Prior to Bedrock, he spent over a decade helping to build and scale companies such as, Google, Uber, Zoox, and WeWork.

  • Eric Hobson, Senior Director of Mechanical Engineering

    Eric leads the mechanical design team in close collaboration with the CTO.

    He has spent over 25 years developing new products for subsea at Deeplight, defense at Precision Remotes and the food industry at CafeX.

  • Connie Wang, Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Connie works closely with Eric leading the mechanical design team.

    Connie previously worked in mechanical and aerospace consulting specializing in opto-mechanic design. Her projects include designing, building and testing a range of systems including Free Space Optics laser communication, high energy laser defense, LIDAR, space deployed solar array blanket and automated coffee cherry-picking.

  • Stuart Sonatina, Senior Mechanical Engineer

    As a member of the Mechanical Engineering Team, Stuart splits his time between R&D and production.

    Prior to Bedrock, he spent a four-year stint as an Electronics Technician in the US Coast Guard.

  • Tim Pilegard, Lead Integration & Test Engineer

    Tim leads the AUV integration and testing engineering specializing in the intersection of underwater vehicle hardware, software, and sensors.

    He spent almost 4 years at L3Harris OceanServer, working in research and development field testing, sensor integration, and special projects.

  • Michael Hwang, Robotics Engineer

    Michael focuses on optimizing the design of the Bedrock AUV and the electrical engineering team.

    Prior to Bedrock, he spent 7.5 years at SpaceX working on the Falcon 1, Falcon 9, and Dragon programs, and spent 2.5 years at Apple working on iPhones.

  • Chris Abele, Electrical Engineer

    Chris works on the AUV Electrical systems with the Robotics Team,

    He has previously worked developing scientific and medical lasers and general medical products. He has contributed to products which perform corneal sculpting, dermatology procedures, cervical cancer detection, duodenal ablation, and insertion of brain-computer interface electrodes.

  • Eric Foley, Staff R&D Software Engineer

    Eric is a software engineer with a special interest in the unique challenges of processing and imaging seismic, sonar, and radar data.

    Prior to Bedrock, he spent 10 years working in high-performance computing for seismic processing, founding a company developing software used by multiple major oil & gas companies to process huge datasets on thousands of compute nodes. After that, he worked at Cruise on perception for autonomous vehicles.

  • Dave Foster, Senior Robotics Software UI Engineer

    Dave helps develop the user interface of the AUV software.

    Prior to Bedrock, Dave was a full stack engineer for Axiom Data Science, dealing in all kinds of scientific and environmental data management software, especially animal telemetry.

  • Jess Austin, Robotics Software Lead

    Jess leads the Robotics Software team.

    She has over 10 years of experience as a software developer in the consulting and ocean data management worlds at Axiom Data Science, building many of the leading marine data platform at NOAA.

  • Byron Reins, Senior Robotics Software Engineer

    Byron works on the AUV software.

    He previously worked at LAM Research working on robotic improvements to semiconductor manufacturing, after working on radar calibration at Ike which was ultimately acquired by Nuro. Previous to that he worked on spacecraft structural analysis for several NASA spacecraft at SSL which was acquired by Maxar Technologies.

  • Steven Seeberger, Robotics Software Engineer

    Steven works on the AUV software.

    Prior to joining Bedrock, he spent just over 3 years at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where he developed software and performed field work for both the REMUS and LRAUV autonomous underwater robot platforms.

  • Matt Olson, Senior Survey Operator

    Matt ensures that all on-water operations are performed smoothly and safely.

    Before coming to Bedrock, he worked with a variety of unmanned systems performing surveys at sea with Orca Maritime. He also supported training operations at the Navy Marine Mammal Program, and has worked as a field biologist aboard commercial fishing vessels.

  • Michael Osment, Senior Systems Integration Engineer

    Mike works on design, integration and validation of all major systems and subsystems for the vehicles and marine equipment.

    Prior to joining Bedrock, he worked at DOER marine where he built and field-tested a number of ROVs and other subsea equipment which operate at depths of up to 6km. He has also worked in R&D Systems at Cobham Sea Tel designing stabilized marine and tracking satellite antennas.

  • Jack Davidson, Senior Robotics Software Engineer

    Jack works on the AUV software.

    Originally from the aerospace industry, Jack started his career as a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls engineer at Axiom Space. After moving into robotics, he spent 2 years as a Robotics Software Engineer for OffWorld working on autonomous mining robots.

  • Lizzi Slivinski, Cloud Software Engineering Lead

    Lizzi is the Software Engineering Lead on the Cloud Software team.

    Before joining Bedrock, Lizzi spent 7 years modeling fiber-optic networks at VETRO FiberMap. Among the SAAS startup’s first employees, Lizzi went on to lead engineering, product management, and design teams during her time at VETRO.

  • Brendan Kennedy, Senior Software Engineer

    Brendan works on the Software Engineering Team working on Mosaic.

    Before Bedrock Brendan worked at SkySpecs, the largest wind turbine inspection platform in North American and Europe. Brendan has also worked in education and most recently in healthcare, writing software for the best-in-class digital stethoscope.

  • Marc Schroeder, Senior Data Visualization Engineer

    Marc is a data visualization engineer working to make Mosaic equally beautiful and functional.

    Before joining Bedrock, Marc was a Design Technologist working with Stamen Design and on his own across a broad spectrum of data storytelling, custom tool development, and R&D.

  • Robbie Culkin, Senior Software Engineer

    Robbie works on the cloud software team building Mosaic.

    Before joining Bedrock he built machine learning systems at Intuitive, maker of the da Vinci surgical robot.

  • Henry Amestoy, Senior Software Engineer

    Henry is a member of the Cloud Software team and helps build Mosaic. He's driven by a desire to learn and a passion for applying innovative technology to environmental issues.

    Before Bedrock, Henry worked as a Software Engineer for Scoot Science where he developed tools and conducted analysis to improve aquaculture sustainability.

  • Max Sun, Full Stack Software Engineer

    Max works on all aspects of Mosaic: from the ingestion of sonar data to its visualization on the web.

    Before working at Bedrock, Max was studying Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley while also working on projects ranging from drone-powered agricultural analysis at SlantRange to landing page AB-testing as a growth engineer at Noom.

  • Dom Clemmer, Senior Frontend Software Engineer

    Dom is a part of he cloud software team building Mosaic.

    Dom joined Bedrock after working on the Enterprise Design System team at Nike. He worked on the component library and stylesheets that are used in over 100 Nike digital products. Working on UIs at that scale is what brought Dom into this opportunity; to help scale the front-end efforts of Mosaic as Bedrock and its data collection scales.

  • Bridgit Boulahanis, Data Scientist Lead

    Bridgit works with all of the data -- both coming off of the AUV and in Mosaic.

    Bridgit has extensive experience working with subsea data in a variety of formats, and her research has taken her on numerous seagoing field expeditions.

  • Francisco Bolivar, Geophysical Data Analyst

    Francisco works with all geophysical data.

    Prior to joining Bedrock, Francisco worked as a freelance marine geoscientist and data processor focused on on seismic processing, reservoir characterization, and integrated multi-physics quantitative interpretation using rock physics fundamentals

  • Loren Brock, Manager, Manufacturing

    Loren manages the transition of AUV builds from engineering into the manufacturing environment with the ultimate goal of ensuring the team has the AUVs they need on time and of the right quality.

    He has a background developing manufacturing processes and managing teams responsible for building unique products such as the exterior facade of the the George Lucas Museum of Narrative Art and user adjustable prosthetic sockets.

  • Matthew Palomar, Senior Production Engineer

    Matthew works on improving our manufacturing processes, optimizes production workflows, and ensures the highest levels of quality and efficiency in our manufacturing operations.

    Previously, he has worked in the commercial satellite manufacturing industry at Space Systems/Loral in Palo Alt (Maxar) as a spacecraft assembly technician and mass properties engineer. He has spent time in the NPI realm of robotics/self-driving/autonomous vehicles as a production engineer at Tyto, manufacturing engineer at Otto an manufacturing engineering manager at Uber ATG.

  • Rene Del Toro, Senior Quality Control Inspector

    Rene acts as the primary step to ensuring our components are built to a high standard and quality, your role ensures the survivability, reliability, and performance of our fleet.

    Before Bedrock, Rene worked at Ample Inc. in San Francisco, CA for almost four years in R&D and Manufacturing building and testing industrial size robots for battery swapping stations for EVs. Prior to Ample he was a Union man with IBEW 1245 working at Delta Star Inc. in San Carlos, CA as Linemen building industrial size transformers.

  • Klaudia Davis Shirley, Senior Assembly Technician

    Klaudia works directly with the mechanical and electrical engineering team in the assembly and production of AUV's.

    Prior to Bedrock, she worked at Ample for the last 2 years in R&D and manufacturing Battery Modules for EV's. Prior to Ample, she worked for Lam Research as an Electro-Mechanical assembly technician in the Semi-Conductors industry.

  • Mark Villanueva, Assembly Technician

    Mark works directly with the mechanical and electrical engineering team in the assembly and production of AUV's.

    Mark began his career as a Security Director and Fire/Life Safety Director before pivoting and pursuing a career in the automotive, power-sport and aerospace industries working with Harley Davidson, Polaris Industries and Boeing as a journeyman.

  • Luzelena Jimenez de Ambrose, Assembly Technician

    Luzelena works directly with the mechanical and electrical engineering team in the assembly and production of AUV’s.

    With over a decade of experience as an assembly technician, Luzelena honed her skills in crafting and building with precision. Every component meticulously placed, every machine perfectly aligned – her work embodies a dedication to quality and efficiency.

  • Dante Rivera, Assembly Technician

    Dante works directly with the mechanical and electrical engineering team in the assembly and production of AUV’s.

    Previously, Dante worked as a mechanic and later at Altus Medical (now Cutera Inc), a manufacturing company for medical instruments. He ha also worked on Google self-driving car project, specifically in the LIDAR department.

  • Zach Cohen, Product Lead

    Zach leads product working closely with the cloud development team to solve hard customer problems with Mosaic. He is a humble and passionate student of product management.

    For the last ten years, Zach has worked on building enterprise data products and platforms for a range of different users. Most recently, he led the development of a platform for data scientists to build geospatial data products while also managing the product and design teams. Earlier in his career, he lived and worked in East Africa helping smallholder coffee farmers build successful businesses exporting premium coffee.

  • Amira Hankin, Product Design Lead

    Amira is a Lead Product Designer at Bedrock, working to elevate and evolve the Mosaic platform.

    Her background is in data-driven and geospatial product design, with a foundation in data visualization, marketing, and communications design. Prior to Bedrock she worked as a lead designer at Stamen, a data visualization and cartographic design studio. She's worked across a range of industries and sectors, from climate policy and renewable energy, to biotech, healthcare, science philanthropy, and autonomous vehicles.

  • Stephanie Miano, Business Operations Lead

    Stephanie is the Business Operations Lead for Bedrock out of the NYC Office.

    Prior to Bedrock, she worked at EQ Office and Environmental Defense Fund. She managed commercial property in Midtown Manhattan for EQ Office and during her 6+ years at EDF, she provided financial and operations support to the EDF+Biz program, helping to create a more sustainable world where companies, communities, and the environment thrive.

  • Graham Schmelzer, Operations Manager

    Graham the Purchasing/Logistics/Materials Management liaison. He supports the Mechanical, Robotics, and Survey Operations teams out of the Richmond, CA office.

    Before Bedrock, he worked in Technology Transfer at NASA and Procurement at SpaceX, where he focused on developing strategic partnerships and coordinating day-to-day operations for their human spaceflight and offshore teams. Graham's interests include clean energy, space exploration, and environmental protection.

  • Vanlu Madarame, Executive Assistant

    Vanlu is the Executive Assistant to the Co-Founders for Bedrock.

    Before joining Bedrock, she was a Trade Officer at the Economic and Trade Mission of the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo, creating bridges between Israeli startups and Japanese conglomerates. She then transitioned from the public sector to private, starting off as a Client Associate and Project Manager at Third Bridge, and then shifted into an operational role in the startup scene as the Senior Operations Associate and EA to the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and General Counsel at Holmusk.

    Prior to joining Bedrock, Ray spent over 10 years attracting top talent for leading tech companies such as Google, Dropbox, Meta, and Coinbase. Ray is well versed in hiring for technical and non-technical roles and is known for delivering an insightful and memorable candidate experience.
